Rough gear changes both when accelerating and slowing down.
At constant speed without gear change there is a sporadic rough/driving power disruption.
Technical Background
After a Mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox change the clutches must be adapted to the new component; this requires a gradual
move of the clutch linings towards the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. Therefore, sporadic driving power disruptions or
reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles despite adaptation. With time these issues decrease depending on the driving profile.
This happens also if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted.

Service
The first step in any shift concern should be to check the fluid level and condition. Correct level if low and test drive to recheck for the concern. If
burnt or contaminated fluid is found call TAC with fluid sample showing condition before any repairs. If level and condition is okay proceed as
follows.
Sporadic driving power disruptions (jerks) or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles as the clutch linings gradually move towards
the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. This is normal operation of the transmission.
After replacing a Mechatronics unit, torque convertor, or a complete gearbox the clutches must be adapted per the procedure from ELSA or GFF.
This may also be required after certain software updates, or if the adaptations were cleared. This GFF or ELSA procedure is required to start the
clutch adaptations properly toward full adaptation. Sporadic driving power disruptions (jerks) or reduced shift comfort are still possible over the first
500 miles despite adaptation as the clutch linings gradually move towards the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions.

Lighting - Moisture Accumulation In Exterior Lamps

Condition
Condensation is visible on the inside of the headlight, taillight, fog light, side marker light, front turn signal, daytime running lights, or third brake
light lens.
Technical Background
Damp air settles on the inside of a cold lens, which creates condensation.
The headlight circulation system allows air from the outside to flow through the headlights. This open water-protected ventilation system (needed for
pressure compensation) creates different climate zones in the headlight: very warm areas, where the lens is warmed up by the light, and relatively
cool areas, where the lens is cooled down by the air flow.
Considerable differences in humidity and temperature between the inside and the outside of the headlights, even while driving, can lead to
condensation. This is especially true in cold and wet weather, but it can also happen after a car wash, after steam cleaning the engine or the front end,
with overnight temperature changes, etc. This phenomenon is more visible on lenses made of clear glass than on lenses with patterns. The moisture
does not affect the headlight function (light performance) and does not lead to corrosion or other damage to headlight parts.

Service
For headlights, the affected lens surface should be clear after approximately 10 minutes of light operation, although the entire lens surface may not
clear. The clearing process depends on the outside temperature and the humidity.
In cases where water droplets have formed on the inside of the lens or water has collected at the bottom of the light assembly, check for leaking seals
and/or cracks in the lens or light assembly. If no damage is found, use compressed air (less than 30 PSI) to clear the lens.
On light assemblies with LED lights, e.g. S6 daytime running lights, the LED lights do not emit enough heat to clear the moisture from the lens. Only
the pressure difference of the ventilation system provides the air flow to clear the moisture on the inside of the lens. The design of the ventilation
system on these types of lights will ensure the lens is clear after a few miles have been driven.
For Audi Q7, please see TSB 2028277 94 Moisture accumulation in headlamps for the installation of headlight ventilation valves. Do not replace
light or lens assemblies for these conditions.

Forget Dieselgate: Volkswagen Beat Toyota As World's Largest Automaker

Diesel is dead, at least for VW.

The Dieselgate scandal that plagued Volkswagen not so long ago is now nearly a thing of the past. According to Reuters and Bild am Sonntag, the German automotive giant achieved a combined group sales of around 10.7 million cars last year. Thanks to its Audi and Porsche luxury brands, total revenue is expected to surpass 220 billion euros ($264 billion). Even 2016’s revenue wasn’t too shabby with 217 billion earned. That year’s revenue is significant because 2016 was the first full year post-Dieselgate.

You know, that whole emissions test cheating thing that forced VW to pay out a $14.7 billion settlement in the US alone. The automaker was also forced to buy back diesel-powered vehicles for customers who were deceived into buying them. But thanks to new leadership in both Europe and the US, Volkswagen has literally become a new company. Diesel is nearly gone and electric mobility is in. While these technological advances are taking place, VW Group brands have consistently launched new and relevant product that, evidently, people across the world are happily buying. What’s pretty amazing about VW’s stellar 2017 is that it beat Toyota, the largest auto company in the world for 2016.

The Japanese automaker sold around 10.35 million cars in 2017, which is actually up by 2 percent from the previous year. Aside from solid sales figures from Audi and Porsche especially, what else contributed to Volkswagen’s great year? China. Last year saw a double-digit increase in China as well as gains in Europe. Yep. Dieselgate is now officially a mere memory.
