You Can Buy A New Audi RS 7 With An $18,500 Discount Right Now

Embrace the holiday season.

The second generation Audi A7 was revealed exactly one year ago. The all-new RS 7 will arrive sometime in the coming months. But before that happens, Audi dealerships need to clear out some stock and one of the best methods for doing so is to offer discounts. According to Cars Direct, through November 30, Audi dealerships are offering a form of dealer cash called a Marketing Allowance in order to sweeten some discounted prices on select models. Which models, specifically?

Try the 2018 A6 and A7, both of which are eligible for up to a $10,000 discount. Heck, the S6 and S7 are being discounted by as much as $15,000. So let’s put this into some perspective: a 2018 A6 carries an MSRP of $50,675, including destination, and that price can climb as high as nearly $73,000 for the S6.

The S7 has an MSRP of $70,675 and the S7’s is $82,175. Toss in those incentive discounts and it’s kind of hard not to justify making a purchase right now, if you so happen to be in the market for an Audi. But the variant we love the most is without question the RS 7. It’s a beast. With a price tag of at least $115,875, the RS 7 is anything but cheap, but Audi is right now trying to take a small bite out of that figure. Try up to a $17,500 discount. Assuming you don’t tack on any additional options, you could theoretically get a new 2018 RS 7 for under six figures. No one at the country club (or track) would ever know.

Oh, and we forgot to mention: all Audis are eligible for an additional $1,000 loyalty discount for those who buy through Audi Financial. That's a $18,500 discount, in total.

But just in case none of the above Audis appeal to you because they’re not large enough, Audi is offering its newly redesigned A8 and S8 with an attractive $12,500 discount. Aside from upcoming redesigned models, why is Audi being so generous right now? Because we’re rapidly approaching the end of the year and the annual sales race between Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz is likely to be close again this year. Happy shopping.

Here's All The Discounts Luxury Brands Are Offering Right Now

Great deals are to be found this time of year.

It’s that time of the year. The holiday season is fast approaching but, above all for automakers, the end of the year is only a few weeks away. That means it’s time to not only get rid of excess inventory but also to aim for a strong end of year finish. BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz know all about this. And speaking of those luxury brands and some of their competitors, Cars Direct has discovered that many are offering some pretty sweet deals right now on many of the most popular premium cars and crossovers.

Here's several luxury makes and models that are very likely experiencing the best prices they've had all year. If there was ever a time to buy or lease, it's now. Remember, if you snooze you lose.

Audi

Thanks to a Season of Audi Credit when buying or leasing a vehicle, you can now get a $1,000 credit on either a 2018 or 2019 Audi Q7. The 2018 A4, A5 Sportback and Q5 are also each be offered with a $750 credit. The A3 sedan has a $500 credit of its own, while the Q5 has an additional $2,000 off. Note that Audi is offering dealers unadvertised incentives from $1,000 to $17,500 on select models. Of course, the amount you could save will likely vary from dealer to dealer, so it’s best to shop around.

Cadillac

Cadillac is really pushing end of the year deals. For example, you can buy a new Escalade SUV with as much as $7,000 off, depending on trim. That figure could potentially increase to $10,000 if you plop down a $2,000 down payment and finance through GM Financial. If you don’t want a big SUV but still like to sit up high, the XT5 is also being offered with some attractive discounts, like $2,000 in rebates on select trims. If you were to trade in a competitor and also finance through GM Financial, another $2,000 could be slashed. Lastly, there’s a $3,000 Flex Cash incentive. Do your homework, put your bargaining face on and you could drive home quite happy.

Jaguar

Fancy a new XE, E-Pace, F-Pace, or even an F-Type? Jaguar is now offering its Winter Sales Event bonus which entitles buyers to a $1,000 discount on a 2018 or 2019 XE or E-Pace. There’s another $3,000 discount option happening for the latter. The F-Pace has a $1,500 discount of its own that can also be combined with another $1,000 bonus. As for that F-Type, how does an $11,000 discount sound? We thought so. And yes, this applies to the supercharged V8 F-Type. The turbo four and supercharged V6 variants each have a smaller but still solid $8,000 discount.

Lexus

Lexus is no stranger to end of the year deals. Remember its December to Remember sales event? It’ll soon be back and there’ll be 0 percent financing and extra cash offered. Several 2018 models, including the IS, RX, and LS are eligible for 0 percent APR for 60 months. However, there’s a bit of a catch. If you go with the financing you could potentially be sacrificing other attractive rebate offers. Here’s one example: in California, a 2018 LS is eligible for a $5,000 discount plus another $3,000 when trading in a competitor for a total of $8k in savings. Your call.

Mercedes-Benz

The German automaker is bringing back its attractive low APR after over a year of no factory financing. For example, you can get 1.99 percent APR for 72 months on the 2018 and 2019 C-Class sedan or 2.99 percent APR on a 2019 E-Class sedan and the GLC. Prefer to lease? No problem. The 2019 GLA 250 Premium is receiving a $20/month price reduction for a final price of $359 a month for 36 months, but there’ll be $3,707 due at signing. You could also look at the offer like this: with its effective cost of $462, a new GLA is only $8 a month more expensive than the CLA 250.

Audi Will Gladly Take Your Money Right Now For The e-tron SUV

You can make a deposit right now, but not for all countries.

Audi is about to enter the EV market with its first vehicle. The Audi e-tron SUV will enter production very soon. In fact, according to Automotive News, you can also already make a deposit. However, these potential customers, at least for now, can be from Europe only. The e-tron SUV is a big deal for Audi because it’ll serve as the luxury brand’s first full-on electric vehicle. Its main targets are the Tesla Model X and the also upcoming Jaguar I-Pace. Norway, which is Europe’s biggest EV market, has already contributed some 5,000 orders.

Those buyers were asked to put down a deposit of about 2,000 Euros. The e-tron SUV will be built in Belgium, and Audi dealerships there, as well as in Switzerland and Austria, are also taking reservations. Interestingly, Germany’s Audi dealers have yet to open the reservations book. Nor has China, one of Audi’s fastest-growing markets. Audi says reservations will begin in the near future for those countries but didn’t provide a precise date. The e-tron SUV is said to be capable of a 311-mile range and fast charging, two critical factors needed for premium EVs today. And it’ll be quite powerful with around 496 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Expect a brisk 0-62 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.

Size wise, it’ll be smack dab in between the Q5 and Q7 SUVs. This particular e-tron is only the first of three. The e-tron Sportback, pictured here, will come next in 2019. The third EV, due in 2020, will be a smaller, more compact vehicle that’ll share a platform with Volkswagen’s also upcoming I.D. hatchback. By 2025, Audi is planning to have 20 electrified vehicles on sale. More than 10 will be full-on electric vehicles as opposed to hybrids or plug-in hybrids. We also recently learned Audi will launch in 2020 the e-tron GT, a four-door coupe that’ll share underpinnings with the Porsche Mission E. There are also plans for a new Audi EV supercar further down the road.

You Can Order The Audi e-tron quattro Right Now - But There's A Catch

And like with Tesla, these buyers don't even know the final price.

Audi is clearly taking this whole EV thing very seriously, as it’s just announced that it’s begun taking reservations for the production version of the e-tron quattro concept from 2015, according to Electrek. There’s a catch, however. This pre-order applies only to those living in Norway, a country well-known for its love of EVs. Taking a page right out of Tesla’s pre-order playbook, Audi won’t even tell these interested, EV-loving Norwegian customers the SUV’s final sticker price.

But a 20,000 kroner ($2,500) deposit is still required to reserve one. As we previously reported, Audi has decided to axe the Q7 e-tron in favor of building a completely unique all-electric crossover instead, and the e-tron quattro concept fits the bill nicely. It’ll supposedly have a 310-mile range thanks to its 95 kWh battery pack, thus making it competitive against Tesla’s most expensive Model S and Model X trims. In terms of overall dimensions, expect the e-tron quattro to slot between the Q5 and Q7. But what could really be an industry shaker is the possible base price. For example, the Q5 and Q7, as Electrek also points out, start off at $41,000 and $49,000, respectively.

If Audi were to give the e-tron quattro a similar starting MSRP, then it’d seriously undermine the Tesla Model X, which only begins at $74,000, before tax incentives. No word as to when Audi will begin offering pre-orders for the rest of the world, but we imagine it’ll get underway relatively soon because e-tron quattro production is expected to begin later this year.

The BMW X-Cross Is Just The Right Kind of Wrong

There is one niche BMW has still left untouched.

This has been the year of the BMW X vehicles, practically every X model in BMW’s extensive line up has been refreshed and a few new ones like the X2 and X7 have been introduced for good measure too. Yet despite the introduction of the odd-looking Gran Turismo and stylish Gran Coupe models, BMW has never ventured into the soft-roading world of the Audi Allroad, Volvo Cross Country and Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain.

Designer Aksyonov Nikita has attempted to right this wrong with some interesting renderings of what a high-riding BMW sedan might look like, dubbing his creation the X-Cross.

The first designs show what a 3 Series sedan or wagon might look like with the trademark arch flares, underbody protector and jacked-up ride-height that differentiate cars like the A4 Allroad and C-Class All-Terrain from their standard counterparts.

While it is unlikely that BMW will ever introduce such a model, especially in the current F30 shape as it is soon due for replacement, the thought of a having an off-road capable BMW without needing to go the full SUV route sure is tempting. The sedan version looks a trifle strange though and this sort of go-anywhere capability is more suited to the added practicality that a wagon body style offers anyway.

Aksyonov also turned his hand to the new 6 Series GT and 5 Series sedan models. To our eyes, the 6 Series seems the more likely candidate for X-Cross status as it already has a huge rear hatch and would move the whole genre in a new direction.

Whether BMW ever do decide to build a rival to Audi's, Volvo's and Mercedes’ offerings is unlikely. It has already saturated the market with X models of all shapes and sizes and seeing as the crossover/SUV segment is one of the fastest growing sectors, venturing into this area may be one niche too far.

This Is The Rarest Aston Martin You Can Buy Right Now

Turns out the rarest Aston Martin is a Vanquish Volante based on a powerboat.

At first glance, this seductive Aston Martin appears to be an ordinary Vanquish Volante. You might be surprised to learn, then, that it’s one of the rarest Aston Martins you can buy right now – rarer, even, than the F1-inspired Valkyrie. That’s because this Vanquish Volante is truly one of a kind, unlike the Valkyrie where 150 examples will be produced. Called the Vanquish Volante AM37, this special supercar is a one-off limited edition commissioned by Aston Martin’s Q bespoke department.

And in case you were wondering where the name is derived from, it was built to celebrate the launch of the AM37 powerboat in partnership with Quintessence Yachts. As such, the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante AM37 is loaded with bespoke features to commemorate the powerboat. The exterior is finished in an exclusive Concours Blue, which is complimented with a Chestnut Tan and White Essence leather interior. If that didn’t already sound swanky, the interior is also fitted with Conker Saddle carpets and overmats, while the front fascia is finished in Rosewood High Gloss, and the fender and buckle badges are finished with a white enamel infill to match the tailored luggage set.

Under the hood lies the same sublime 5.9-liter V12 as the standard Vanquish Volante producing 568 horsepower, allowing the bespoke grand tourer to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 183 mph. Aston Martin Reading is currently listing the Vanquish Volante AM37 for sale, where it can be yours for 236,950 GBP ($294,803). That’s around $36,000 more than the standard Vanquish Volante, but it’s a small premium for the privilege of owning a one-off Aston Martin inspired by a powerboat. You can't put a price on bragging rights. Plus, it’s considerably cheaper than the actual AM37 boat which costs around $1.2 million. Your choice.
