Affected Vehicles
Condition
^ iPod is not detected after plugging the device into the Audi Music Interface (AMI).
^ The following message appears on the MMI display: Device or cable type not supported.
Technical Background
As a result of the new development in the Audi Music Interface, a new iPod adapter cable was introduced. It can be identified by a blue instead of a
black grommet.
This new iPod adapter cable has an additional data transfer line between the iPod and the AMI module. The additional data transfer line ensures
faster detection when the iPod is plugged in and unplugged.
Tip: This new iPod adapter cable must be used in AMI-equipped vehicles with
^ 3G Audi concert radio,
^ 3G Audi symphony radio, or
^ The new 3G MMI system.
