AFFECTED VEHICLES
CONDITION
^ When the sunroof panel headliner is closed and the sunroof panel is vented, the sunroof panel headliner will not move to the vent position.
^ When the sunroof panel headliner is open, the glass sunroof panel is vented, and the sunroof panel headliner is closing, the sunroof panel
headliner will not move to the vent position.
^ The sunroof panel may stick.
^ Sunroof operation may be noisy.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The sliding headliner guide spring on the sunroof frame is damaged, broken or deformed.

The sunroof frame does not need to be replaced for this condition. The guide springs are available separately. Follow the directions below to replace
the left and right guide springs (Figure 1, 1). Also replace the rear slide (Figure 1, 2) of the sunroof headliner.
1. Remove the glass sunroof panel according to the repair instructions in Elsa Web >> Body >> Body Exterior >> 60 Sunroof >> Sunroof, removing
and installing >> Sunroof Panel, Removing and Installing.
2. Remove sunroof sliding headliner.
3. Remove cross channel.

4. Reach with a finger behind a guide spring and completely unclip it toward the center of the vehicle. Repeat to unclip the other guide spring.
5. Remove the locating spring attachments.

6. Remove spring (Figure 7, 1).
7. Detach joint (Figure 7, 3).
Tip: The attachment concept may differ depending on model and model year. The joint may be slotted or fastened with a small bolt.
8. Remove pin (Figure 7, 2) with needle nose pliers or a small screwdriver toward the outside.
9. Pull the lever and the guide springs (Figure 7, 4) out of the sunroof frame toward the center.
10. Remove both the guide springs (Figure 2,1) and the slide (Figure 2, 2) and replace them.
During reinstallation, ensure that the lug of the locating spring attachment is in the correct position.

11. Reassemble, making certain that the guide springs are correctly positioned in the frame.
Note:
Do not move the sunroof while the glass sunroof panel is removed. If the roof is moved, irreparable damage to the sunroof assembly can result.
12. Reassemble glass sunroof panel.
13. Check function:
a. Completely open and close the sunroof panel headliner.
b. Tilt the glass lid and completely open and close the sunroof panel headliner.
c. Completely open and close the glass lid.
