For reference, the standard RS5 needs just 3.9 seconds to sprint from 0-62 mph and maxes out at an electronically limited 155 mph, or 174 mph with the optional R5 Dynamic Package fitted. ABT isn’t only offering a performance bump, either.

Those who want their RS5 to stand out from the crowd can choose from a range of distinctive 20-inch alloys and integrated LED entrance lights mounted in the front doors that project the tuner’s logo onto the floor. 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback Comes In $4,300 More Than The Coupe

The five-door performance sled is also nearly $20k more than the S5 Sportback

If you looked at the Audi A5 Sportback and RS5 coupe, and wondered when Ingolstadt would bring the two together, your question was answered this past March. That's when the German automaker lifted the veil off the new RS5 Sportback at the New York Auto Show. And now it's revealed how much it'll set you back to put one in your driveway.

Reaching dealers later this year as a 2019 model, the new Audi RS5 Sportback carries a starting MSRP of $74,200. Add in the mandatory $995 destination charge and you're looking at $75,195 delivered, before delving into the list of options.

For all that scratch, you get a five-door performance machine with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, sending 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The sum total is a 0-60 time quoted at just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 174 (with the optional Dynamic Plus package).

The pricing makes the five-door RS5 $4,300 more expensive than the two-door RS5 coupe, nearly $20k more expensive than the S5 Sportback, and over $30k more than the base A5 Sportback (based on MY2018 pricing). It does, however, significantly undercut the larger $113,900 RS7.

Rival automaker BMW doesn't currently offer an M4 Gran Coupe. But the top-of-the-line 440i Gran Coupe (more directly comparable to the S5 Sportback) starts at $51k, or $53k with four-wheel xDrive – undercutting the S5 Sportback (with which it's more directly comparable) by $1,400. For what it's worth, the Bavarians charge $66,500 for the M3 sedan (or $7,700 less than the new RS5 Sportback).

The new model joins the top Audi Sport performance lineup as its seventh model in the United States, alongside the RS3 sedan, RS5 Coupe, RS7 Sportback, TT RS Coupe, R8 Coupe, and R8 Spyder.

Audi Reveals 450-HP RS5 Coupe: BMW M4 Fans Should Be Worried

Audi has made this as enticing as possible, almost as enticing as the upcoming RS5 Sportback.

Thanks to a previous leak made by a misbehaving attendee at an Audi dealership presentation, we already knew a thing or two about the RS5 Coupe that’s just had its wraps peeled off at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Our eyes can already tell that it’ll be better looking, but the Audi specs sheet confirms that it will indeed make 450 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, a figure available in full from 1,900 RPM and up to 5,000 RPM thanks to a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 that sends its power to all four wheels.

We previously postulated that this would be a slightly revised version of the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Porsche Panamera 4S, but Audi has made it clear that it built this unit from the ground up, helping it achieve the impressive power output numbers we see here while preserving a 27 mpg average to appease EPA regulators. This is no doubt helped by the fact that, despite being 2.9 inches longer than its predecessor, this RS5 Coupe weighs 132 pounds less than the previous version. The RS5’s weight loss intentions can be signaled by an optional bare carbon fiber roof, which should go nicely with optional 20-inch wheels (up from the standard 19-inch set) and optional gloss black, carbon, or matte aluminum appearance packages.

These help highlight the pronounced wheel arches, which have been widened by 0.6-inches to make for a more aggressive stance. We’re happy to announce that this pretty sedan will hit some impressive performance targets, including a 0-62 mph time of 3.9 seconds while the optional dynamic package unlocks a 174 mph top speed. These numbers are enabled by the eight-speed tiptronic transmission that can be optioned with a rear sport differential. If a carbon fiber roof wasn’t enough to lower the center of gravity, consider that Audi has already lowered the RS5 “significantly” compared to its predecessor while outfitting it with Dynamic Ride Control, ceramic brakes, and dynamic steering with RS-specific tuning.

Inside, Audi has inlayed the Nappa leather seats with its signature diamond pattern stitching. Also on tap inside is a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a bevy of RS logos on the seats, steering wheel, door sill trims, and gear selector. A special RS display, which gives vital performance information like G-force, torque output, optimal shift times, and tire pressure, reminds the driver that this is still a sports car. Audi’s MMI, notable for being one of the least annoying infotainment systems, has gotten slightly better with the inclusion of a Wi-Fi hotspot to go along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For now, we know that Audi will release the RS5 Coupe to European dealerships in June with a starting price of €80,900 ($85,500).

If our leaked dealership presentation holds any water, which we’d wager it does given how accurate it turned out to be, we’d hold out for the Coupe’s more attractive sibling, the upcoming RS5 Sportback based on the jaw-dropping S5 Sportback we recently saw in LA.

We Know Now How Much The Audi RS5 Coupe Will Cost In The US

Where does the RS5 sit amongst its rivals?

Audi has been on a product onslaught with its RS-branded performance models. The RS3 and TT RS are fantastic and now Audi has finally released pricing for its BMW M4 and Mercedes C63 Coupe rival, the RS5. We've known about the RS5 for a while now, and now we know how much it will cost in the US. The RS5 carries an MSRP of $69,900 (excluding a $975 destination charge). This makes the RS5 more expensive than the base M4 or C63, but there is more to consider than base price alone.

The RS5 is powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. The Audi's V6 produces more power than the BMW's 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six (425 hp), but less than the Mercedes' 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 (469 hp). The BMW is available with 444 hp with the Competition Pack, but at a cost of $4,750 over the base price of $68,700. Likewise, the C63 can be had with 503 hp, but for $75,500 compared to the base car at $67,500. It is also important to note the Audi is the only car available with AWD (either standard or optional). This may not mean much to enthusiasts who like to do burnouts, but it could help the RS5 sell well in cold climates.

The RS5 also comes more well-equipped than the M4 or C63. The interior comes standard with a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and 12-way power front sport seats covered in leather and Alcantara with heating and massage functions. The RS5 also comes standard with tri-zone automatic climate control. Audi doesn't skimp on safety either. Even the base RS5 still has driver assistance systems including side assist, rear cross traffic assist and a pre sense city system, which can automatically brake the vehicle if it detects a collision. The RS5 certainly looks like a worthy competitor in the performance coupe segment.
