There was a time when we were uncertain whether Audi would bring its latest TT RS and RS3 sedan to the US. Fortunately, the German automaker has delivered, and now it’s time to discuss pricing. Car and Driver managed to get a hold of Audi’s official pricing for both hot cars. The new TT RS will carry a starting price of $66,875. Expensive? Yes, but C&D also points out that, compared to the Porsche 718 Cayman S, the TT RS has an additional cylinder, 50 more hp, and costs $1,750 less.

Standard fare includes 19-inch wheels, Nappa leather, eight-way power sports seats, LED headlights and a fixed rear spoiler. Optional features include 20-inch wheels, carbon ceramic front disc brakes, a red diamond interior stitch patter, Bang & Olufsen sound system, Audi Connect 4G LTE, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Then there’s the RS3 sedan, which would be our preference between the two. Why’s that? For starters, it costs less, beginning at $55,450 for 2017 models, and $55,875 for the upcoming 2018s. And yes, the carbon ceramic front brakes are optional here as well.

But if you have to have one of the first 2017 RS3 models, then Audi has already made them standard with the following: carbon fiber inlays, Bang & Olufsen sound system, 19-inch five-spoke wheels with a sweet titanium finish, red brake calipers, the automaker’s MMI Nav Plus system, and even a black-tipped RS sport exhaust. Audi Is About To Give The Boring Q5 The Badass RS Treatment

If you live in Europe, the sight of a bad ass Audi RS carwith tons of trunk space is not news to you. Sadly in the United States wehave missed out on cool wagons such as the RS6 and RS4 Avant. Yes we do get theRS7 and RS5, but they don’t offer the same quirkiness and practicality that theEuropean wagon can muster. Rumors havenow emerged that Audi is building an RS version of the boring mom-mobile Q5crossover. The current SQ5 features a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 making 349 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque.

Due to America’s hatred of wagons and complete infatuationwith crossovers, Audi has now decided that the Q5 should be given the RStreatment to compete with the likes of AMG and M. At the moment, there is noX3M or GLC AMG, so the RSQ5 could be without any major rivals. Audi plans to slipin a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine tuned to over 400 hp. Early estimates claimthat this hot mom-mobile will be able to reach 62 mph in less than five secondsand do 155 mph. Expect to see a refreshed Q5 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show withthe insane RS model to follow a year later.

Audi Could Bring A Badass Porsche-Derived RS Q5 To Geneva

But would this awesome crossover come to the US?

We know that Audi wants to double the amount of RS models from seven to 14. Part of this model increase has already come in the form of the RS3 sedan and TT RS. Now, Motoring has reported that it expects most of the new RS models to be SUVs, including an RS Q5. Audi recently announced the SQ5, which replaced the supercharged V6 with a 354 hp twin-turbo unit. The head of Audi's RS brand and former Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, said that there will be a new RS model at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in early March.

There is currently only one SUV model in the Audi lineup with an RS badge, the RS Q3. Unfortunately this model is not sold in the US. It is assumed that the new RS model will be a Q5 because Winkelmann said that “Geneva is in front of us, we’ll have a launch there which is going to be very important for us because it’ll set a new era of the B-segment [Q5 size] of Audi Sport for us. You will see very shortly what is going to happen.” It is uncertain which engine the RS Q5 will get. It could be a tuned version of the S5's twin-turbo V6 or even a Porsche-derived V6. Which ever engine is chosen, the RS Q5 would be quicker than the SQ5, which can hit 62 MPH in 5.4 seconds. The RS model could lower this time to under five seconds.

It is unlikely that the car will use the RS3's 2.5-liter five-cylinder because Winkelmann said “we want to stick to the A-segment” with that engine. After the RS Q5, the next RS model is predicted to be an RS Q2 which would be revealed at Frankfurt. SUVs will be a big part of the RS lineup in the future, so an RS Q7, RS Q4, and RS Q6 are all in contention. We are glad to see that Audi is making more RS models, but we would also like to see some more sedans, wagons and convertibles instead of just SUVs. We are interested to see the new RS Q5, because it could provide some insight into the new RS4 and RS5.
