Affected Vehicles

Condition

Customer may complain that the vehicle locks itself when removing the key from the ignition lock.

Technical Background

When removing the ignition key from the ignition, the customer may unintentionally operate the lock button of the remote key.

With the S contact in the ignition lock off (key is removed), the central locking will resume to respond to signals from the remote key.

MVB 17 in electric control unit address $46 (Comfort System Central Control Module) can be used for argumentation. The last received central

locking command is stored in this MVB. A value of "2" indicates a locking command last sent from the remote key. With the Autolock feature,

MVB 17 is overwritten. Therefore MVB 17 must be read immediately after the complaint.
