Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 10 - 05 dated April 28, 2010 for the reasons listed below.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
CONDITION
^ When the exterior of the vehicle is wet (such as during or after rain) and the doors are opened, a few drops of water drip into the passenger
compartment.
^ Vehicle is an A4 sedan with bright chrome moldings. (A4 sedans equipped with black moldings are not affected; the A4 Avant is not affected.)
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The area behind the aluminum roof trim molding is too small. As a result, residual water remains in this area. When the door is opened abruptly, the
resultant vacuum pressure in this area can draw a few drops of water from the molding and drip onto the seat.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Improved roof trim molding profile.
SERVICE
Replace the aluminum roof trim molding with molding part number 8K5 853 703 E 2ZZ and/or 8K5 853 704 E 2ZZ.
