Supersedes Technical DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR Group 44 number 10-09 dated November 19, 2010 for reasons listed below.
Affected Vehicles
Condition
This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
^ The tire pressure warning may be illuminated in the instrument cluster.
^ DTC 03543 is stored in the tire pressure monitoring control memory.
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until December 31, 2013. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 44J2 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.

^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

Service
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the brake control module (J104), address word 03, using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
3. The SVM program may direct you to disconnect the brake control module (J104) at the end of the update. This is only necessary on the A4, A5,
A5 Cab and Q5. Disconnecting the brake control module (J104) is not necessary on the A8.
