Condition
Customer may report the front of the passenger floor mat is wet after heavy rains.
Technical Background
The flat surface of the fresh air intake may warp over time and cause a gap where it meets with the plenum wall.
During heavy rains, water can back up and enter the vehicle through this gap.
Production Solution
The torque value and tightening sequence of the three mounting nuts have been optimized for production.
Service
1. Remove and install the fresh air intake according to the repair manual.

2. After the plenum cover and fresh air intake grill have been removed, and before removing the fresh air intake, verify the customer complaint
by applying water to the top surface where the fresh air intake meets the plenum wall using a hose. Visually check for water leaking into the
blower intake. (Figure 1).
3. Apply a bead of butyl cord around the perimeter of fresh air intake, to the outside of the existing rubber seal. (Figure 2).
4. Verify the repair.
