Affected Vehicles
Condition
After replacing the dynamic steering with the control unit J792, the unit cannot be coded via SVM spec/actual.
Technical Background
The SVM code can be found in Parts Bulletin 9-113. All parts bulletins are located on the ETKAinfo.com website. The link to ETKAinfo.com is
indicated by the icon seen in Figure 1.
Once the icon is selected, the ETKAinfo.com website will be automatically opened. Next the user must select the tab labeled "Infoline", then set the
Make to "Audi" in the dropdown menu, then select the tab labeled "Technology", and then select the left menu option labeled "GP bulletins" (Figure
2).
Alternatively, the EKTAKinfo.com website can be found by selecting Service >> Infoline under the ETKA dropdown menu.
This particular parts bulletin, (9-113) "SVM code for active steering control unit SDC J792", is attached; however, please check ETKA info for the
latest update.

Service
When replacing the dynamic steering control units (J792), online coding and parameterization must first be attempted using an SVM spec/actual
comparison. If the SVM spec/actual returns a response of "Check Hardware", then it is possible one of the SVM codes listed above is required to
code and parameterize the new replacement control unit.
Tip: The SVM Exchange Code (XCHG1BA001) may be required.
