Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 08-03 dated November 5, 2008 for reasons listed below.
Affected Vehicles
Condition
The Haldex clutch's oil filler plug and drain plug must not be confused with the final drive's oil filler plug and drain plug.
Technical Background
115
Because of the integrated housings of the Haldex clutch and final drive, the drain plugs and the filler plugs of the two systems are often mixed up.
This leads to avoidable maintenance mistakes, which can cause the malfunction of the Haldex clutch or the final drive.
Production Solution
No change.
Service
The Haldex clutch and final drive are a structural unit with separate oil circuits.
As part of maintenance of the final drive, it is necessary to check the oil level and to check for leaks. It is not necessary to change the oil.
On the Haldex clutch, the oil must be periodically changed. Observe the vehicle-specific maintenance manual (Haldex oil change) and repair manual
- power transmission (Final drive - check oil level).
