Many enthusiasts are already proclaiming that the all-new Aston Martin Vantage is the best-looking car the British automaker has produced in a long time, but others aren’t so sold on its looks. But if you want a car with unbridled beauty, few would argue that the Vanquish Zagato Coupe is one of the best-looking modern cars ever made. Not only is it one of the most achingly beautiful Aston Martins ever, it’s also one of the most exclusive since only 99 were built.

And now one of them is looking for a new owner, as German dealer Kagan Assets has listed a barely used Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe for sale in yellow – but it will set you back nearly $1 million. Finished in Cosmopolitan Yellow with matching yellow brake calipers and a contrasting interior that’s all-black bar a few subtle yellow accents, the dealer says that this is the 49th Vanquish Zagato that rolled off the production line. It was delivered to its owner back in January and has a mere 43 miles on the clock, so it’s practically brand new - let’s hope the next owner gives its sublime-sounding 6.0-liter, naturally aspirated V12 more of a workout.

The V12 unit delivers 592 hp through a eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the coachbuilt supercar to sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds. So it has the performance to match its looks. Its exclusivity comes at a price, however – this Vanquish Zagato has an eye-watering price tag of 749,000 Euros ($883,000), which makes it over three times more expensive than the new Vantage. If you weren’t lucky enough to secure the new Vanquish Zagato Volatne, Speedster or Shooting Brake, why not snap up the original Coupe?

The Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate Is A 595-HP Goodbye Present

A new Vanquish will arrive soon, but we'll miss this one.

Limited to just 175 examples, the Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate Coupe and Volante celebrate the final phase of UK brand’s flagship’s lifecycle. And no, Tom Brady wasn't involved with this one. Before its redesigned successor arrives, Aston Martin wisely felt it necessary to create this special edition, perhaps the final model to be powered by the naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 with 595 hp. An eight-speed Tiptronic automatic is standard fare while 3-stage adaptive damping and carbon ceramic brakes round off the package.

Just three exterior color design themes are being offered, all of which include carbon fiber side strakes with rose gold ‘Ultimate’ decals, carbon fiber treadplates, an ‘Ultimate’ sill plaque, and a special stitched quilting seat design with unique embroidery. The first exterior design theme buyers can opt for is a monochrome design with Ultimate Black paintwork with Copper Bronze graphics around the front air intake, side sills and on the rear diffuser. There’s also black exhaust tailpipes, brake calipers, window trims and 5-spoke wheels. The interior is covered in Obsidian Black leather with Chestnut Tan accents.

The second theme features Xenom Grey paint and contrasting Cobalt Blue graphics paired to the same black trim. Yellow brake calipers have been added while Phantom Grey leather upholstery is found inside. Lastly, there’s the White Gold paint with warm Bronze graphics, paired with gloss black and carbon fiber detailing. The interior features that Chestnut Tan leather with Obsidian Black accents. Aston Martin adds that if buyers don’t find any of these themes appealing, they can come up with their own custom exterior and interior packages at no-cost. Pricing begins at 278,995 Euros for the Coupe and 293,995 Euros for the Volante. Order are now being taken for early 2018 deliveries for European buyers only.

Thanks to YouTube spotter Automotive Mike, this is recent footage of an Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato advanced prototype testing at the Nurburgring. Because it was already revealed nearly a year ago, there’s no reason for any camouflage. So why is the car so special? For starters, it’s been styled by Italian design house Zagato as part of the longstanding relationship it’s had with Aston Martin.

Compared to the standard Vanquish, take note of the round taillights and that distinct double-bubble roof. Only 99 examples of the coupe are planned, but there will be an additional 99 convertibles at a later date. So why is this particular Aston Martin a reminder of what we’re about to lose? It’s engine.

Under the hood lies a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 with 592 hp, enabling the Aston to enjoy a 0-60 mph sprint time of only 3.5 seconds. No manual gearbox will be offered here, limited to an eight-speed automatic which sends power to the rear wheels. Heck, the sound the tires are making here as they try to grip the pavement on the corners sounds great. The brand new DB11 ditched the NA V12 for a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 with about the same output. But still, there’s no replacement for displacement when it comes to the dramatic bark of a V12 like this one.

Unusually, the Speedster was spotted being tested at Nurburgring without wearing any camouflage, allowing us to admire its striking styling in the metal.

Aston Martin already makes some of the most beautiful cars on the planet, but when it teams up with legendary coachbuilder Zagato the results are truly breathtaking. The seductive Speedster is no exception. The rear seats and folding roof have been removed in a design that evokes the 2003 DB AR1, transforming the Vanquish into a true two-seater sports car.

A pair of buttresses are located behind the driver and passenger without tarnishing the Speedster’s elegance. Like the Vanquish Zagato Coupe and Volante, power will be sourced from a 5.9-liter V12 with 592-horsepower. Chances are the Speedster will be marginally faster off the line than the Volante since removing the rear seats will make it lighter. While the Zagato Volante is restricted to 99 units, the Speedster is even rarer – only 28 of these beauties are being built, and our source says they’ve all been snapped up for ￡1.3 million (around $1.7 million) each. The 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Will Become A V12 Ferrari Fighter

Time to move on from being a grand tourer.

With the highly successful launch of both the V8- and V12-powered DB11 behind it, Aston Martin is moving on to bigger and more powerful things. Autocar reports that next year, following the launch of the redesigned Vantage, a new Vanquish will debut. Unlike the current Vanquish, however, its replacement will forgo its grand touring persona in favor of being a hardcore supercar. Think of it as a Ferrari 812 Superfast competitor. This is all part of Aston Martin’s big plans to take literally everything up a notch. Or several.

The 2018 Vanquish will be powered by the DB11’s twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12, but output will be increased from the current 600 hp. How powerful, exactly? The 812 Superfast has 789 hp thanks to its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, so Aston Martin is very likely aiming to match that output. A personality change is important for the Vanquish’s long-term survival, mainly because the new DB11 infringes heavily on its segment territory; going upmarket is the natural and most logical answer. However, the new Vanquish will still utilize much of the DB11’s architecture, although there’ll be heavy modifications.

A recent spy video taken at the Nurburgring was originally thought to be a DB11 S prototype, but further examination reveals it is, in fact, the new Vanquish wearing a DB11 production body. You can tell it’s different from the DB11 based on its improved cornering ability and less body roll. In many ways, Aston Martin is echoing Ferrari’s lineup strategy.

It’s also planning a mid-engined rival to the 488 GTB and the upcoming redesigned Vantage will battle the just revealed Ferrari Portofino. The DB11 will be the grand tourer of the bunch while the new Vanquish will handle the 812 Superfast. Come 2020, the DBX SUV should be good to go, and it’ll take on Ferrari’s own upcoming SUV. New Aston Martin Vanquish Will Fight The Ferrari 812 Superfast Next Year

Aston Martin's boss says the new Vanquish will be "bloody good." It better be if it's competing against the 812 Superfast.

Just this week, Aston Martin made a final farewell to the current-generation Vanquish. The stunning S Ultimate Coupe and Volante, limited to just 175 examples, is likely to be the last model to be powered by a 595-horsepower naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12. It is of course paving the way for the all-new flagship model, which company boss Andy Palmer has confirmed to Autocar will be revealed and go on sale next year to compete with the Ferrari 812 Superfast.

It marks a different direction for Aston Martin, which previously used the Vanquish to compete with luxury grand-tourers like the Bentley Continental GT rather than performance supercars like the Ferrari 812 Superfast. Development of the new Vanquish is nearing completion according to Palmer, who described the flagship as “bloody good” when discussing the car with Autocar. “The majority of product investment [for Vanquish] is finished,” he added. “What’s left is preparation of manufacturing the car rather than preparation of the car itself. We are making more prototypes to make sure we’ve got production ready to go.” Palmer also confirmed that a convertible Vanquish Volante will follow.

Powering the flagship grand tourer will be a turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 taken from the DB11, but the 600-hp unit will need to be considerably more powerful to compete with the 789-hp Ferrari 812 Superfast. While the new Vanquish will be underpinned by the same platform as the DB11, recent sightings at the Nurburgring showed the car wearing new bodywork featuring a lip spoiler, suggesting that the new Vanquish will produce more downforce than the DB11. The prototype also sits lower and corners with less body roll than the DB11. Before the new Vanquish is revealed next year, Aston Martin is planning to unveil the new Vantage later this month.

Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake Looks Breathtakingly Beautiful In The Metal

A prototype test mule of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake has been spotted for the first time.

Last summer, Aston Martin unveiled the awe-inspiring Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, which will be joining the Vanquish Zagato Coupe, Volante, and Speedster. So far, we’ve been able to marvel at its beauty in render images. Now, over a year later, a Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake prototype has been spotted in the metal for the first time. Prepare to pick your jaw up from the floor.

The first photo posted on Reddit shows the stunning shooting brake storming down the M23 UK highway, while photos shared by Twitter user @dusiue78 give us a clearer look at the camouflaged prototype being transported on the Eurotunnel to Calais. Like other cars in the Zagato Vanquish family, the Shooting Brake features carbon fiber body panels, Vulcan-inspired taillights and 3D Zagato ‘Z’ motifs in the front grille and rear vent meshes. Obviously, the Shooting Brake stands out from the rest thanks to its stretched roofline.

You’ll notice, however, that the prototype shown in these new photos doesn’t have a gloss carbon roof like the car shown in Aston Martin’s renders. The whole exterior appears to be painted in matte red, including the rear diffuser and side air vents. It’s a shame because the car doesn’t look quite as striking without the bold black accents. But we’re nit-picking here, because the shape still looks sensational.

Being based on the outgoing Vanquish S, the Shooting Brake is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 that produces 592 hp. Aston Martin is only building 99 examples of the Zagato Shooting Brake, which matches the production runs of the Coupe and Volante. The Speedster, on the other hand, will be even more limited, with just 28 units planned for production.
