Affected Vehicles
Condition
Squeaking noises when turning the steering wheel or when maneuvering. The noise may be more prevalent in wet weather.
Technical Background
The folds of the outer rubber boots on the front axle shafts may contact each other when turning the steering wheel. This may cause
squeaking noises, especially when the vehicle is new. The volume and occurrence of the noise dissipates after a short break-in period.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
This is a normal condition. Please explain the Technical Background to the customer.
No parts replacement is necessary. Replacing parts will not correct the concern. Needlessly replaced parts will be debited.
