The symbol for dynamic steering is illuminated in the instrument cluster. A DTC for overload, overuse, or steering lock, is stored in the
active steering control module (J792), address word 1B. The environmental conditions displayed in the GFF log match the Technical
Background below.
Technical Background
A DTC is stored when the dynamic steering lock does not actuate within the specified time. It may take too long to engage or disengage.
Production Solution
Modified software (SW 0580) and optimized dynamic steering lock magnet.
Service
1.
Repair the steering column by installing the repair kit for lock magnet, part 8K0 927 289.
