Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 10 - 13 dated November 18, 2010 for reasons listed below.
Affected Vehicles
Condition
Customers with servotronic steering (1N3) may complain of a shudder in the steering wheel or a knocking noise when the steering wheel is turned
during parking lot maneuvers or while driving at low speeds (below 5 mph).
Tip: This bulletin does not apply to vehicles with dynamic steering (1N7).
Tip: During tight turns and while driving on smooth surfaces such as painted shop floors, the friction between the surface and tires can cause a
shudder sensation felt in the steering wheel. This characteristic is an annoyance. It has no effect on steering system longevity or performance.
