Affected Vehicles
Condition
This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
Leakage at the coolant pump on Audi vehicles with V6 petrol engine built within a specific period.
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until January 4, 2012. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 19H1 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

SERVICE
1. Remove upper front engine cover.
2. Determine which water pump type is installed (housing plastic or aluminum). The plastic housing is black, and the aluminum housing is silver.
^ If a water pump with an aluminum housing is installed: The water pump does not need to be replaced.
^ If a water pump with a plastic housing is installed:
Replace coolant pump. (See Repair Manual?6-cylinder direct petrol injection engine, mechanics ?Rep. Gr 19 ?Removing and installing coolant
pump.)
Per the repair manual, collect coolant in a clean container and reuse coolant during repair. Only use new coolant to top off system.

REQUIRED PARTS AND TOOLS
^ Destroy and properly dispose of removed parts in accordance with local, state and federal/provincial environment regulations.
^ If you have exhausted your allocated parts and you require additional parts for vehicles affected by this RVU but you have exceeded your Upper
Order Limit, please submit your request for additional parts via email. Be sure to include the affected VINs with your order. Prior to submitting
your request, ensure that each vehicle has the 19H1 code open in ElsaWeb. Your order will be reviewed and processed accordingly.
