Affected Vehicles
Condition
This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
For certain Audi vehicles manufactured within a specific period, a software update must be performed for the tire pressuring monitoring system
(TPMS or ESP/ABS control unit) to correct a system malfunction logic.
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until January 10, 2013. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ This RVU is in effect for only unsold vehicles in dealer inventory.
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 44H9 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
Technical Background
Incorrect Tire Pressure Monitoring System malfunction logic in the TPMS or ESP/ABS control module (address word 4C or 03) may cause the Tire
Pressure Monitoring System malfunction warning to extinguish prematurely.

Service
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the TPMS or ESP/ABS control unit using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
3. While the software is updating, adjust tire pressures in each tire to factory-recommended tire pressure settings.
Tip: After the software update, the TPMS indicator in the IP cluster may illuminate.
4. With key on and/or engine running, on the MMI, select Car >> Tire Pressure Monitoring >> Store Now >> Confirm.
